Artist Profiles
The Rogues
From the vibrant heart of Newport, a band is making serious waves, not just in their hometown, but across the UK. The Rogues – a five-piece indie-rock sensation – are proving that raw talent, relentless hard work, and an electrifying live performance are a winning combination.
Formed in October 2021, The Rogues have rapidly become a force to be reckoned with. Comprising Andrew Flannelly (lead vocals & acoustic guitar), Rhodri Eley (lead guitar & backing vocals), Alex Ainsworth (lead guitar), Ben Slade (bass), and James Mundy (drums), this quintet has spent the last few years relentlessly gigging, building a formidable reputation and a dedicated fanbase affectionately known as "The Rogue Army."
Their journey has been a whirlwind of sold-out shows not just locally but further afield in London, Liverpool, and Manchester. They’ve supported established acts like Rusty Shackle at a packed Tramshed in Cardiff and graced the stages of notable festivals including In It Together Festival, Weekend Rumble, Devauden Festival and most recently the Isle of Wight festival. Their live energy is legendary, a testament to their tight musicianship and undeniable connection on stage.

The Rogues' songwriting is a key component of their appeal. In 2023, they released three singles that quickly garnered attention: their debut "Lizzy," followed by "Skinny Dipping," which made the BBC Radio Wales A-list for three consecutive weeks and even featured on Match Of The Day Wales. Their third single, "Nice To Say Hello," further solidified their knack for crafting catchy, relatable indie anthems. Check them out on Spotify

Em had a very long sabbatical from gigging. In her 20’s you’d often find her at live music events singing with one band or another. She enjoys lots of different genres but has a passion for Rock and guitar based music, anything from Guns n Roses to Nora Jones.

Rich and Em started playing together as an Acoustic duo a few years ago and have been at open mics and supporting acts since 2023. They play popular covers from the 60’s to the 00’s.

Wyld Bird Seed

Wyld Bird Seed are a 4-piece band made up of friends who enjoy getting together for weekly rehearsals and trips to the pub afterwards - a decade later they’re still going strong. They like to mix things up and so it’s not unusual to find rock, pop, disco, punk and folk in the same set - all done in their own inimitable style. Mostly playing covers, from the 60s right up to today, they do like to throw in the odd original number in as well.
Always up for a good time, they aim to get everyone singing and dancing along to songs you know but may not have heard in a while. https://www.facebook.com/wyldbirdseed
