James Smallcombe

Goal Keeper

James has been our first choice keeper for over ten years now, having recently achieved the incredible accolade of playing over 200 consecutive league and cup games for the club. Fantastic shot stopper and much valued club stalwart, having also represented us at various levels.

Paul Clayton

Paul is a man mountain of a centre half who has progressed through the youth system at Undy to become one of the first names on the team sheet. Loves to run with the ball at his feet.

Gyles Thompson

One of the elder statesmen of the team. Gyles is an accomplished player, relaxed on the ball with a sweet left foot. Gyles is a one team player, having only ever played his football for Undy AFC, after joining us as a young lad.

Kane Jelliman

This will be Kanes first competitive season at Undy AFC having been with us since early 2020. Very combative defender who reads the game well and is calm under pressure.

Jordan Rathbone

In his second spell at the club following his release from Newport County. Strong and reliable player, fantastic crosser of the ball with an eye for a killer pass.

Sam Thomas

Eldest son of manager Lewis. Sam is another young player that has represented Undy AFC at many levels as he has progressed through the junior section. Sam captained his university when they knocked Swansea University out of the 2020 University Cup.

Henry Mollard

Yet another successful product from our youth team set up to make their way in to our first team squad. Henry reads the game well and is a player that always gives the management team 100%. Also a coach within our u18’s East Gwent Premier side.

Jack Morgan

Josh Fitton

Mr Reliable, always gives his all to the team, very vocal on the pitch, Mr Nice off it. Josh has been with the club for a number of years on a ‘On and Off’ basis. He played for Caldicot Town previously, before coming back to the Causeway like a homing pigeon.

James Gidney

Full back/Midfield

James is another young player that has risen through the ranks of the club having started in our junior section. The ultimate defensive utility player, equally happy on the left or right hand side of defence or being deployed as a defensive midfielder.

Oliver Smith

Left back/Midfield

Grandson of our Life President, John Smith, Oliver is a very skilful and talented left sided player who loves to get forward. Guaranteed to get supporters off their seats. Yet another young player that has risen from our junior section and flourished within our senior football setup.

Chris Parry (Captain)

Midfield/Centre Half

Chris always leads by example and is an exciting and combative midfielder who oozes class at whatever position he plays in. An ex-Royal Marine who has played for Hereford Town having risen through our youth setup. A local lad and trusted stalwart of the club that his father also played successfully for.

Sam Broadribb

Sam is one of the youngest members of our squad and he has perhaps the greatest potential. Released by Newport County and a key member of our trophy winning u18’s. Sam is very comfortable on the ball and only scores screamers. Developing into an important piece of the Undy jigsaw.

Dan Tozer

Dan is the epitome of your ‘box to box’ midfielder. Great stamina and fitness with a keen eye for a pass or shot. Dan was a member of our youth team set-up before making the step up to senior football. Another local lad who helps coach within our u18’s set up and a player that we hope graces the Causeway for many seasons to come.

Harris Thomas

Youngest son of our manager Lewis. Harris is a youthful addition to our match day squad. At 17 years of age, he is one of the youngest players to represent our first team. With speed and agility that are above his age, he is a very exciting prospect that we are sure will flourish and mature over the coming season.

James Barnes

James has been with us for over ten years now and he is the engine room of our midfield, with energy in abundance. James has been integral to our rise through the leagues from the Gwent County league to where we are now and is a much valued member of our team. Supporters favourite.

Tom Wright

Giancarlo Gabbiadini

This is Giancarlos’ first season in an Undy AFC shirt. He joins us having played previously for Cardiff Met and prior to that at Forest Green Rovers. Lightning quick, good luck in trying to work out which is his stronger foot.

Dan Jarman

Dan is another young player to have risen through the Undy ranks. A member of our team that gained promotion to the Welsh league ten years ago. Dan has explosive pace and a powerful shot, loves nothing better than to run at defenders.

Alex Jarman

Alex is Dan’s younger brother. Just as speedy and direct in his style of play. Alex has represented Wales at u18’s level having, like a number of our squad, graduated from our junior section. If that’s not enough Jarmans for you, watch out for the youngest Jarman brother, Hari. We hope to be able to name all three brothers in a matchday squad soon.

Rhys Thomas

This is Rhys’s second season at Undy having joined us from Cardiff Met. Where he played a number of Premier league games. No nonsense striker who is physical in stature and has finesse in front of goal. Always gives 100% for the team.

Gareth Cullimore

Gareth having played within our junior section has a wealth of Welsh league experience. He has played for a number of top clubs across South Wales and last season celebrated hitting the magical landmark of 200 goals for Undy AFC. He definitely knows where the back of the net is as he has bagged well over 350 goals in his Welsh league career so far.

Christian Mbongompasi

Forward. Chris joined us having played at Goytre. A very exciting player who is capable of turning games around. Strong and quick, Chris is a valued member of our matchday squad.

Ryan Hudson

Mark Crook

Director of Football

Mark has a wealth of footballing experience. Marks’ first managerial spell at the club, saw us promoted to the Welsh league pyramid for the first time in the clubs history in 2011. Mark spent the majority of his playing career as an Undy AFC player and has always had an unbreakable bond with his local boyhood club, this is further reinforced by the fact that his father, John is one of the founding members of the club as we know it now.

Lewis Thomas

Lewis was installed as first team manager in July 2020 having coached at both club and academy levels across South Wales. Lewis is an accredited UEFA B licence coach, who is known for his attention to detail and innovative training drills. Lewis in his playing days, also spent time gracing the Causeway and playing in the same Undy AFC side as Mark Crook.
