The Manager Says....

September has been an extremely frustrating month as Gaffer with us struggling with injuries & holiday commitments to a number of senior players throughout the month . This is again typified by this Saturday,s squad missing five experienced players ( James Smallcombe , Dan Morgan , James Barnes , Gyles Thompson & Dan Jarman ) . This has pretty much be the story of the month with at least five players out each week.

That said, in a way it has made it all the more pleasing that our performances have been good & our points return respectable ( Six points from four games ) . What it also shows is how much we have strengthened the squad over the summer . Last year's squad would simply not have been competative with that many senior players sitting in the stands . Seven of last week's 16 have been signed or welcomed back to the club in the summer ( Jordan Rathbone , Dan Morgan , James Gidney , Chris Mbong , Rhys Taylor , Luke Verran & Sam Broadribb ) . These lads are all proving they are more than up to the challenges of the JD Cmyru South .

We really do now have an embarrassment of riches if we can get them all fit & available . We have competition for places all over the park . If you were to watch our training, there is real quality on show & we are working very hard on our game plan & shape week in week out . What goes on for 90minutes on the park every Saturday is only the tip of the iceberg . However we are an amateur side playing in what is in essence for many clubs at this level a semi professional league . This is what makes moments like the first weekend in September ( when we beat Haverfordwest ) all the more sweeter . It's fantastic for a Undy boy to see a community club like ourselves to be turning over what is a fully semi professional outfit .

Hopefully October & November will bring many more afternoons & evenings like that as we cross horns with the likes of Llanelli .

Thanks for the Support
